Language and their need of community

You need a community to have a language that lives long and prospers; what the Jewish did was exactly that, and they chose Hebrew as their community language. That is what you need to do with the Irish speaking community; they have to be willing to use it among themselves, even in front of the disapproval of their fellow English-speaking citizens. That's how French kept on in all parts of Canada where it is still spoken today, and that is what I intend to do when I'll be going back to Canada (including also all the First Nation languages in my goal).

As the Irish, speakers that is, say, Tír gan teanga, tír gan anam. A country without a language, a country without a soul.

Why keep French?

Yesterday, a very intelligent woman I met asked me the greatest question ever. She was Japanese, but was very considerate about people's background. She asked me :

"Why do the Quebeckers and all the French speakers in Canada keep French?"

I found that question very interesting, but as an answer, I asked her the following question :

"Do you want to change your language for Korean?"

She said that I probably used the best answer ever to make her understand the whole issue easily.

Listening to the Universe

You hear me say : "Listen to the Universe", and, then, here you see me not listening to it.
I am no Master, nor Enlightened; or, perhaps, I am, but that would be yours to decide.
But, see, here I am, telling the whole Universe to listen to the Universe, telling All to listen to All. But am I not part of the All? Am I not part of this Universe? And, therefore, should I not listen to myself?
And here I am, finally catching that part of the All. I should listen to myself. So I will, and then, I shall reflect and act upon what I heard.
So, you too, listen to yourself, as a part of the Universe.

True oatmeal is truly good

When I was a kid, for years, I used to eat those instant oatmeals made by Quacker; I could only eat one kind (maple and brown sugar); all others, especially plain, were disgusting.

When I started to do some muscle workout a couple of years ago, I tried against instant oatmeal, plain. It was still disgusting, and I fought many battles by trying to add some natural flavor. The only one I ever truly appreciated from then on was peanut butter. (Yes, oatmeal + peanut butter, and I still absolutely love it.)

But then, since I came to Japan, I had to use traditional oatmeal, that I buy throught the Internet. It's very cheap (cheaper than rice, actually), but I was afraid of the taste it would have. So I still added my spoonful of peanut butter into my oatmeal. Delicious as always. But then, today.

I did not want to add any fat to my thing (special workout requiring that the first meal be as exempt from fat as possible), but I only had oatmeal available on hand. So I prepared my usual bowl, and then I tried it, without peanut butter. This is when I learned that true oatmeal is truly good.
